Dive pics from Akumal and Cozumel
Just thought I would share some of our photos from our August vacation to Akumal and Cozumel. The diving was spectacular as was the weather, with the exception of a brush with Hurricane Ernesto.
These are from Akumal. We dove with Akumal Dive Adventures, a nice little dive shop within walking distance of where we stayed.                 Sunrise on Half Moon Bay          Dive boats just before Hurricane Ernesto.   Storm surge   Permanent resident of the pool area  Cozumel pictures to follow!

those pics are great!!! you got to dive with sea turtles....you lucky duck! When i was there a long time ago now, we didn't see any. Great pics, can't wait to see the cozumel shots.

Thanks, but I cannot take credit for the diving pics. My dive buddy, aka my wife took most of them. That's her and my other dive buddy chick-friend on the bike.
Yes, there were lots of turtles. We witnessed a few nests hatching on the beach in front of our condo.  Unfortunately a lot of nests were lost in the hurricane. These are turtle eggs. There were people picking up the eggs after the hurricane and taking them back to the Centro Ecológico Akumal hoping to hatch them.  Last edited by Treebeard; 10-07-2012 at 06:59 PM.
