![]() Hey guys, Im thinking about starting up my small nano cube tank, Somewhere down the line it will get set up. My question is, Can I run an AI sol led unit without a controller? Or are they a necessity?
Thanks in advance! Mike |

![]() Yes you can run the Sol without controller, they should come out of the box set at 100% brightness. You can then use a timer to control on/off like any other fixture. You could run without a controller to start and upgrade in the future.

![]() Save yourself alot of grief and buy the $80.00 controller. You wouldn't buy a new car with no gas pedal and drive around town full throttle.

the ol will run at 100% with out it, so basically you'd have to hang it very high then slowly lower it over weeks and weeks, to acclimatize your corals to the light. the controller allows you to dim, time, add moon lights, etc. well worth the investment IMO

![]() It will be for a 18x18x12 "cube" when all is said and ready.
Can anyone else confirm that it has a controller built in? Looking online it seems like it does have touch controls to it, Would that do for changing the power of the light? Thanks again guys! |
