![]() I'm thinking about getting the bf a programming chip for his duramax. He's been mentioning for just about the whole time he's owned his truck about how much he'd like one. So far the 'bullydog' chip seems like the best bang for the money. Can any of you truck guys recommend a model? They are quite expensive. For the price, is it really worth it?

![]() It is one of the most beneficial things you can do for a diesel truck.
You should call Big Dog performance. They specialize in everything deisel truck related. http://www.bigdogtrux.com I'll add that they absolutely love their Dodges, but will service ford and chevy deisels as well.

![]() If it's still under warranty...anything that goes wrong will probably be blamed on the chip and refused under warranty.

![]() that all depends, if its under warranty your best bet is to talk to your dealership. most times if you get it done through them they will work with you warranty wise. There are chips that claim to be "hidden" but most dealers can tell when your guilty..

![]() Yes, the truck comes with a 5yr 160,000km power train warranty (GMC) and it's a 2009. 2 years to go. That's why I was looking at the bulldog chip, it's supposed to be hidden and claims that it doesn't require a sensor to be drilled into the exhaust.
