![]() I'd like to get a host for my Clown's and I was wondering if someone can give some advise. I've seen the obvious anemone's, but I've also seen things such as Hammers. What's usually available in Calgary?
Thanks, Walter |

![]() Walter, I found that my hammer was bothered by a small clown in it, and didn't fully open after a while. I think a euphylia coral needs to fairly large to host clowns. Some large mushrooms often play host, maybe that would work?

![]() Wait for someone to have a BTA split. They happen frequently enough, heck, I've got three now after mine did a double split last week (always get a split on an equinox ... weird ... I can set my calendar to it). And I don't need three in my tank ... Anyhow the clones are totally deep into the rocks such that I can't get them out without tearing apart the reef, but, ... I AM going to be tearing the tank down in three weeks for my move, soooooo that would probably be a good opportunity to get one out, if you can wait that long. (I'll fatten them up in the meantime if I can.) And if not ... well ... there are plenty of BTA's out there, I'll bet someone else has some too.

![]() I've seen clowns in all sort of different hosts. One of the LFS has a pare of clowns in a large Toad stool. A friend of ours has a pare that lives in her Frog spawn. As Brad suggested a large mushroom. Ours live in our Hammer but they are small perculas so they don't seem to bother the hammer yet. Just some thoughts

![]() I have a tank bred Tomato that will host with almost anything. It used to be a Toadstool, then my large Colt. Now it is some Hairy Mushrooms. I would like to get rid of both, but for the hassle of tearing the tank apart.

![]() One of my percs is hosting in my fungia, but get a BTA, I think clowns bother corals to much like the hammer, frogspawn etc.. sure they'll be happy but the corals suffer.

![]() check out Reefvan's cozy quarters for his pair:
have to agree with the cautions against LPS though, mine got nicked up in my Hammer, and the coral suffered. softies seem to work better... or, a nice BTA as Tony mentions. ![]()
