Default Replacing sand bed

Hey everyone, lately I've had allot of sand in my water current and it's starting to mess with some corals. I'm thinking of putting a coarser substrate overtop. But my main problem is my 2 big wrasses that sleep in the sand and killing my current sand bed. Any suggestions on how to go about replacing the sand bed?

I replaced mine with a coarser grain size. I did a third every other week.

Are the LR sitting on the sand or the bottom pane of glass?
If the LR is stable, then you could siphon out the sand. Pour in new, washed well, coarser sand into , say a 4 inch pipe that is resting on the bottom and you should be able to have minimal impact on the inhabitants.
