![]() If this is new and really for no reason then I would guess bad connection. Many installers use POS plastic splice click connectors that often cause problems after a while. Hard to say what wire but I'd take a guess at a door pin maybe. If the alarm is just overly sensitive and goes off with cars driving by then the shock sensor can typically be adjusted, they are usually tied up against steering column. Not much else I could tell you, these kind of problems can be hard to diagnose with the car in hand never mind over the web. Might be best to take it in somewhere if you're not familiar with the wiring.

![]() I am going to take it in. The alarm is three years old and the are no splicers in wiring. It's been a few days of working then going off at random. If I drive for a minute the alarm is good for a hour. Sometimes a day

![]() If it developed recently it could be multiple factors.
most common: bad ground bad door/hood/trunk pin It could be dead. but its more likely that it would just stop working. Take it to a shop that specializes in start/alarm. the last thing you should ever do is take it to a mechanic. they are programmed to say its broken and take it out. |
