Default Marineland Garbage

I bought a Marineland return pump from Big als in Edmonton. the concept seems there powerful and quiet. This pump is Garbage 6 months ago I had to take it back to Big als and get a replacement it seems the little brass barbs that the stainless screws thread into that hold the whole pump together corode and break in salt water. so after 6 months im on the phone with Big als again because low and behold im dealing with the exact same failure. I do hope Big als will atleast give me an instore credit so I can exchange this thing for a more reliable pump if not it seems ill be out 200.00 if I remember correctly. Marineland should stick to the little maxijets and stay away from return pumps they are absolute Garbage

um, if it has brass on it, it isn't for salt water, and you are adding copper to your aquarium. use it for fresh water as it was intended and it is probably a great pump.

it is a great pump, the design is crap though, Big als instructed me that this is a salt water pump and on the box it says for saltwater or fresh but seriously this is the second pump that this has happened to marineland needs to get their act together with these utility pumps. I will be pursuing this through Big als sadly they couldnt get ahold of marineland I will be getting in touch with Big als tommorow and asking them if they talked to marineland yet. Ive been reduced to the Rio HF 26 noisy but powerful and reliable.

Steve brings up a very good point. That brass could kill your entire reef.
