Does anyone here have one of these (or a red or green one)? I'm thinking of adding one to my nem tank, but am worried about it co-existing with my BTA's http://reeftools.com/reef-video-libr...on-silverside/

Many years ago I had an awesome green one which I sold when it got too big, a decision I sorta always regretted ever since but water under the bridge now. I didn't really have any issue of coexistence and for that matter I never lost a fish to it but after it left my house I would hear things like "it ate 3 chromis this week", "this week it ate a linckia" (that one was surprising), "blenny" "tang" "Moorish Idol" but after that it was bought and sold at least 2 more times and nowadays I have no idea what its fate was.
The colours on haddoni's can be really intense. The green was like no other, brighter even than GSP. The reds and purples you see on haddoni's too - nice and solid. Or that variegation pattern .. nice stuff. Just as long as you can live with a 24" circle that's as sticky as superglue to anything fleshy, that is !!

My green carpet reacts much faster to food than that one. I don't deliberately feed it anymore, it gets enough food fed to it by the clowns and it catches lots of food randomly at feeding time. It is probably 18"+ and hosts my Maroon clown pair.
I've had mine for...gee...maybe 15 years now? My only advice is not to feed it anything too large. I once had mine get really ill. I saved it by reaching into the gut with tweezers and pulling out a large, rotting mass of food. Basically, the food has to be digested before it rots. If it is too large, the 'nem can't digest it fast enough. Mine has killed a few hermit crabs, snails and one starfish. (I didn't personally witness the starfish...) Mine has never killed a fish, although I'm pretty sure it cleaned up its share of bodies. Here's a recent photo with the 'nem visible.

i'm a little concerned about the size. The tank is 24x24x17 and already has plenty of BTA's. It may not be the best idea.
