	anyway has anyone ever had to clean a carpet sfter a major leak on a carpet before and had to clean it. i jad my sump leak almost a week ago and ive tried steam washing the carpet and it still smells bad any ideas on what to do  |

			 you have to lift up the edge of the carpet and blow air into it-i don't know how long it was dam for ,but you might have to use some diluted bleach under your underlay-almost sounds like you have mould

			 Yep...smells real bad.  Makes you want to quit.  I went to Costco or Walmart and bought my own steam cleaner.  I works very well but you got to be patient and clean it a couple times. 			 i had to rip up the carpet lay new underlay and run fans and a dehumidifier in the room for like 3 days . haha bu that was when 100 gallons of saltwater covered the entire room it was brutal
