I use Arm & Hammer baking soda. If you pH is low bake it for a an hour at 300F, if you pH is ok don't bake it.

I use the Seachem Reef Builder also, put in 1.5 tablespoons a day, keeps my alk right on. I find this cheap overall.

I buy 4.4 pound boxes of arm and hammer baking soda. I do bake mine at 350 for about an hour? It is cheap. Comes out to about $1.20 per pound from Superstore.

Ps. If you happen to be at The superstore in Deerfoor Meadows on a Sunday and there are no more boxes of baking soda I appologize

So what does baking it do? I am interested, as if I can do what you are doing, hey great! At what temp do you bake?

Also is there drawbacks to this method like on PH?
