Anyone in Calgary with an old unit they don't use? I don't need anything except the 4 or 5" across-ish o-ring that sites between the base of the unit and the housing that holds the filters and threads on. Haven't had luck finding a place to buy one yet. Frustrating when a part worth $2 maybe is keeping me from running DI resin.
I can pay top dollar (like $5) and even add you to my friends list (worth $0) |

I'll check.
I've had fairly good luck at Rona for O-rings. They USED to have a stash of different sizes. There used to be a place called Able-O-Rings. Of course they don't exist anymore, but when I went looking for them I found this other place now, whose name I can't remember. But I can totally sort of remember how to get there. Wow, is this an incredibly helpful story. Ok, in a pinch, a O-ring that is too big can be cut and superglued back together. But I'll go check my jar of O rings for anything that might fit the bill.

Yeah it looks like I might have one that size. Get your people to get in touch with my people and we'll go from there.

A high five will suffice. We can also talk about the chairs in my basement and how much nicer than they are than the concrete floor is in Justin's arteestic pad.
And how I've lovingly splattered the place with designer cat hairball splatters. It's the BOMB man.

For future reference, if you are having trouble find parts like o-rings, or anything for that matter, try McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com). They carry almost anything you'd ever look for and they ship usually within a day or two if they have what you are looking for in stock (which they usually do). I've had a few devices that used non-standard sizes for o-rings; McMaster had them for less than what the manufacturer was going to sell me a replacement for.
