Default stn?

so when i was away ona trip my powerheads were left off for some reason and only the pump return was making flow for a few days. now everything is fine but a hole was dug in the sand by the different flow and buried the base of one of my corals in sand. because of this now there is very small traces of stn occuring in this area of the coral. should i propogate the coral just above the base? i have also heard if you put crazy glue around the stn spot it can stop it does this work? any advice helps thank you
