![]() Hi All,
I have discovered 3 bubble algea on my clam. Anyone have any advise on how to remove them without harming the clam?? Thanks in advance

110 gal reef, homemade 30 gallon sump, 2x T5 HO 20,000, 2x Purple, 2x T5 Atinics, 50 lbs live sand/coral, 200 lbs live rock, Vertex in-80 skimmer, Danner Magdrive 700 pump, 2 clown fish, 1 coral beauty, 1 yellow tang, 1 purple headed goby, 1 Flame Angel, several other corals (can't remember the names ![]() plus a 55 gallon freshwater in the Kid's room |

![]() Is it on the shell of the clam or on the mantle (fleshy area). I am assuming on the shell.
If you have a razer blade, gently scrape it of the shell, one at a time. Don't burst the bubbles. |

![]() Yes its on the shell. I am assuming that if I scrape too hard it will hurt the clam? Thanks for the advise.

![]() wouldn't worry about the clam, the bubbles will come off easily

![]() the shell is there to protect the clam. so i would guess if you scrape them off the shell it should be fine.

![]() I think they suggest "Gentle" so you don't burst the bubble releasing many spores into the water which will call more algae. The shell is tough.
