![]() Just wondering what pump is more quiet than the one I purchased a few months back. Just set up my 150 gallon reef aquarium (60X24X24) and the pump is a '180' but will have to doulble check that. Anyway, grinding noise is a bit much for the area it is in and would prefer a quieter and equally adequate pump. Any recommendations and approx costs. Thanks.

![]() I highly recommend the Gen-X pcx40. It is quiet, quite efficient and the cost is quite reasonable. I have been using mine for 5 years with no issues.

![]() If you're using it as a return an Eheim 1260 or 1262 is a good choice. Quiet, efficient and utterly bullet proof.

![]() I'm using an Eheim 1262 and very pleased with how quiet it is.

![]() If you can go external, it's hard to beat the Poseidon series - I have two in my system - one for return, one for skimmer (both PS4's) and the pumps are utterly silent. My tank is in the main area of my great room, and you can sit right next to it and not hear a thing...
