Can you guys comment on Red Sea Berlin Airlift 90

Hey guys,

I'm shifting from FW to SW and thinking about setting up 75g reef w/few small fish like tang, dem and so on.

does anyone here have any experience w/ Red Sea Berlin Airlift 90 Internal Protein Skimmer (90gal)???

Airlift 90.....75g..... Nope,

Red Sea is famous for astronomically over rating there products. The Airlifts are good for Nanos 5-15g and thats about it.

The skimmer itself worked well on my 12g nanocube, but is effected alot by water level.

If you're tank doesn't have a sump your better off looking at the Hang on skimmers;

If you really want an internal look at the Tunze models ie: Tunze DOC 9005

Red Sea's from my experience don't make a skimmer capable of skimming a 75g even though their berlins are rated for like 500g.

this will be going into a 25g sump.

will this work or no?

No thats even more of a reason not to use it, that means your total volume of water is around 90g. I mentioned the sump because most people that are looking at the Airlift are those that want it to sit inside their display. If you have a sump there is a lot more better alternative of skimmer.

You'll need to explain what reasonable means to you. Some people think 100 is reasonable, other think 1500 is reasonable..

resonable to me is from $75-150.

Honestly, you won't get a skimmer worth having in that price range for 90 gallons. I'd recommend saving up for one you'll be happy with. Keep your eyes posted here for EuroReef skimmers, often you might find a RS135 or something for under 200.

Don't waste your money. A lot of us have been that route, and owned a RSB or two..... I would recommend an in-sump Euroreef as Brad says.
