Default Question to Nano reefers

:? I'm curious as to what exactly describes a Nano tank, is the word short for something, or is it the style and size of the stystem itself. I have a 20 gal reef, is this considered a Nano tank?

Nano just means small (as in nano-second).

How small??? Depends on who you ask. Some people refer to anything 20gal or less as nano, others say it's 10gal or less.

Doesn't really matter... it's all semantics. It's a small reef tank.

I agree with Nullig, I know people with 33 gallon nano's... I have a 20 and a 27 gallon nano...

In perspective, compared to the oceans we all have nano tanks..... except that guy building the monster tank, ... I think that thing should be included on maps....

I think in comparison to that new monster, Bunzten lake is a nano... I can hardly wait to see pictures of that when it is running... btw, I'm not asking how much but wow that must be a fortune....

once my 150 gal is running i am going to do the ultimate nano. i have a vial used to transport seeds, it's about an inch high. i'm going to put a 2mm DSB in it and a copepod and do daily 0.05ml water changes. then maybe i can sell it on ebay. :P
