![]() Just curious about things to see and do there. Im going first week of March for 13 days.
Obviously the aquarium will be a day trip, but from what i am hearing, there isn't really great snorkelling anywhere near waikiki. Any spots i should hit up? Any other input and ideas would be appreciated.....mmmmmkay |

![]() Check out Hanama Bay, it has some sweet snokelling. Make sure that you go early in the day so you get a good spot on the beach.

![]() Also check out Kailua beach, not sure on the snorkelling in that area but the beach is absolutely beautiful and much less crowded than Waikiki. You can take the bus there.

![]() Hanauma Bay - definitely go snorkeling there, avoid weekends 10/10
Waikiki Aquarium - very nice, sea dragon display 8/10 Hike Diamond Head 7/10 Go to the North Shore and see the big wave surfing 8/10 Polynesian Cultural Centre - take it or leave it 6/10 Punchbowl War Cemeter - if you are into history 6/10 same with Arizona Memorial and USS Missouri 6/10 Boogie boarding - Makapu'u beach or other beaches 8/10 Kailua Beach - agree this is a gorgeous beach for a picnic and swimming 8/10 Dole Pineapple Plantation - a waste of time 3/10 Sea Life Park - good if you have kids, otherwise avoid it 7/10 Take surfing lessons 8/10 Helicopter tour - only if visibility is good 8/10 Next time I go there I will go to Hanauma Bay at least twice. The nicest restaurant meal I have ever had anywhere was at Orchids at the Halekulani hotel - you will pay $$$$ but if you are with a female for a special occasion take her there, get an outdoor table nearby the Hula dancer/music area at sunset - perfect. |

![]() Trilinearmipmap's rankings are really close to mine.
The zoo which is across the street from the aquarium is pretty good too. Sea Life Park is okay but will be a disapointment if you have been to Seaworld. It's pretty small. As a kid I got dragged to Polynesian Cultural Centre every year for 5 or so years so have nightmares about that place - Only go if you are into replica huts and dancing. I always enjoy the Byodo-In temple. Some nice Koi ponds there too. Paradise Park had a nice display of birds - I don't know if that park is still there or not. I was last in Hawaii in October to do Ironman Hawaii in Kona. Lots of sea turtles on the big island. At one point during the 4 km swim I had a pod of 8 - 10 dolphins swim under me. That was the highpoint of the race. ________ Suzuki RV90 Last edited by Brent F; 01-23-2011 at 06:29 PM. |
