![]() I read that you can see the detrius on the black sand more. Is this true ? I'm considering going with the black sand for my new tank.

![]() I wouldn't say detritus, but instead bits and pieces of the rocks themselves that fall off and collect on the sand.
Of course it all dosen't matter when you have 1000+ baby cerith snails living in it. These little shells are everywhere... especially at night. (they cover the sand in a sea of white) They are starting to get bigger and head up on the rocks now, so it's been interesting to watch. |

![]() I really like the look of the black sand. Hard to decide whether to switch to the black or go bare bottom. Anyways looks great.
