![]() Okay, so now that I finally have a little time to update this thread and get some photos on it I will! To start off I purchased that tank around 5 months ago after selling my 105G Fresh water and 55G FOWLER. The tank is a 28G JBJ 150W HQI which I purchased from *removed* with the matching black stand.

Grape caulerpa Corals: (1) Frogspawn with 8-9 heads (9) Different Zoo/ Paly Colonies (All Colors of the rainbows including some prized ones) (1) Rose Bubble Tip Anemone (1) Fuzzy Green Mushroom Rock (1) Mushroom Rock (Unknown Fuzzie Species/ Around 3) (1) 4 Inch Tridacna crocea (1) Green Acan Frag (1) Red/Green Favia Frag (1) Green/ Brown Acropora with Acro crab (1) Blastomussa wellsi Rock (2) Encrusting Montipora species (1) Prized Pinapple Shapped Green/Orange Favia colony (1) 6inch by 8inch patch of Flourecent green GSP (1) 3inch by 2inch Clove Polyp patch (1) Sun Coral with around 15 heads (1) Orange/ Blue Favia Colony The main goal I'm looking to perfect in my tank environment is a that of a Relaxing Area. I perfected this by not only having a eye catching color scheme and a layered species effect but by incorporating the area around my tank with live plants (Which benefit from stray light). The other major feature of having quite a few live plants around my tank is that it works amazing at covering up all of those ugly wires/ fixtures so when people come over to see my tank there not distracted by all of my fire hazards ![]() ![]() Levi Back Ground: ![]() Wrasse ![]() Atinic Zoos ![]() Pistol: ![]() Flourecent: ![]() Amazing Clam: ![]() Favia Atinic: ![]() Encrusting montipora: ![]() Randals: ![]() Unknown: [url=http://imageshack.us] ![]() Last edited by Aquattro; 08-22-2008 at 01:40 AM. |

![]() I would assume the skimmer just needs to "break-in" a little bit. I had a heck of a time with my CSS when I first got it but a year+ on it works great and pulls the darkest nastiest crud out of the tank you could imagine.

![]() Did you use live rock from your previous system or is everything in the tank new?
If new it might be just the usual cycle of algeas that we always seem to go through on a new tank. If you used old live rock it could be that it had a bunch of crud that had settled in the rock and moving it has released the nutrients to feed the algea. You might want to think about hooking up a phosban reactor for a little while to try and clear up the algea. Or borrow a sea hare from someone for a little while to chow down. |

This essentially acts as a filter sock also but Ive you really notice the difference when it makes the water crystal clear) ![]() Got Milk?: ![]() Last edited by Zoaelite; 12-17-2007 at 06:48 AM. |
