Default Aerating powerhead

Hey guys,

My powerhead has an optional tube that sticks out of the water and provides aeration for the powerhead, which blow out massive amounts of bubbles through the head. Is this a good idea? What are the benefits of using it and not using it. I just tried it out today, and it blows out fair size bubbles, and I am afraid that they may be scaring my fish as the bubbles slam into them when they swim near it.

yeah many powerheads come with that stupid venturi aerating feature for no reason at all. I know of no one who uses it. benefits include aerating the water, but the downside is scaring the crap outta your fish and having a really crappy looking tank. in short, it belongs in the garbage
