![]() I was just wondering how long most people are leaving their PC actinic lights going until they replace them. I have heard every 6 months they should be replaced, and I've also heard they should be replaced every 12 months. I usually run mine for 12 hours/day.

![]() 6 months is about the point that PC's start changing spectrum, so that's about when I would start looking for a sale.

![]() Actinics are more for aesthetics than for coral growth (10000k provides much more useful light than actinics) so they don't have to be replaced until they are losing their power. It will really depend on what type of bulbs & other factors. You use 12hrs/day so they won't last as many months compared to someone who only uses them for dawn/dusk effect.
