![]() Ok, now that I am pouring every spare cent into converting my 120 gal into a reef (I hope my son doesn't want to go to university) I have decided that I would like a clam as well...
I have the 24" deep 120gal and 2x175w MH lights. Can anyone tell me what clams I can keep and where I can pick them up. All I have seen over the last couple of months are Maximas and I think I would need 250s for those. As all I have picked up are frags, I have a lot of space either on the sandbed or high up in the rock. Thanks in advance for any help! |

![]() Squamosas seem to be available fairly frequently, and are lower light requiring. Derasas are too, but not so available. Gigas are rare & get insanely big if they survive.

![]() If you like Maximas, you can get one and put it in your rocks up high closer to your light.

![]() With 175's your probably not going to get the color your looking for with maximas and croceas but derasas and squamosas should be fine.

![]() Actually, I just phoned OA to find out if they had any. Ok, due to everyone's suggestion I will plunge into the clam world and add a squamosa to my tank. I figure that if I am feeding my corals I might as well feed a clam.
Thanks for the help! |
