![]() I have gotten a tank (190g) and various equiptment given to me. Along with everything was a little giant pump. I'm in the process of checking everything out and I got to the pump. All I have is the pump and some hose there was no manual or box. How do I get it going? Is it as easy as plugging it in? Is there a way to prime it? I put the hose in a bucket of water and plugged the pump in but nothing happens. I can put my hand on the pump and feel that it's getting power but it won't actually get going. The pump was working when the tank was taken down but it has been several years since being used.
Thanks for any help. |

![]() If it has been a number of years , strip it down, clean it up and try it again.

![]() External pumps need the water path to be filled with water. It won't just suck water through a hose if you stick it in a bucket, so yeah, it needs to be primed.

When oiling remove the little plastic dust caps.
