![]() I have a cowfish with some ich.That is not what I need to know.He has had ich off and on he always gets rid of it.This time He has a bit of red streaks on his back fin.I am not listing my paramiters or lighting or anything I have had the fish for a year and a half.I just want to know if anybody has had any experience dealing with the red marks.Or has had any luck treating a cowfish.Thanks

![]() I know that with some fish such as yellow tangs, high levels of amonia or even just stress in general can cause red markings on various parts of the fish. In yellow tangs they appear on the head, but there is no reason why it can't appear on different areas of different fish. This means your fish is having a hard time with its osmotic response, or breathing. Can you lower the salinty in your tank to help out the fish? I would recommend hyposalinty treatment to help with breathing and cure the ick.
