![]() Hey peeps . . . Just wondering if anyone out there is able to keep a T.Squamosa (clam) under PC lighting. . . if you do . . what are your tank dimension and how far is the clam from the light source ... did it lose or fade colors? Can I see a pic? Thanks
![]() Sorry for long questions but I am trying to pick one up this weekend and I just need to know (I have a T.Crocea but he is purple instead of bright blue because of my poor light quality) My Tank Dimensions 36x12x12 Lighting 2-96watt PC (192 watts or 7.2 watts/gallon) Also should I keep the clam on the sand bed on high upon the rocks?? Any info would help ![]()

![]() Yes, Squamosas can be kept under PC lighting. I have both Derasa & Squamosa under 96w PC & 2 T-5 20000ks & they're both growing & getting more colourful. I keep them on top of my LR attached to flat oyster shells & cushioned by some moss-like macroalgae. Their 3" from the lights. With only a 12" deep tank, even on the bottom, you would have enough lighting for low light requiring Squamosas. I feed mine rotifers & Tahitian blend nightly (from OA).

![]() I would also say its fine, as long as the distance is not to great. I have a large one in my 24in. deep tank under only 175w halides.
