Mine spit a week before xmas, and poped back out a couple of days ago.
It spat a 2" duster, and came out 1".

I've been told that sometimes they do that prior to releasing sperm/eggs. Leave the tube in because mine grew back a week later (smaller but now it is almost the same original size again).
