![]() I am looking for someone or a company that will buff out scratches in a acrylic aquarium. I tried by myself and it's not working out. I have the supplies one would need.
Any recommendations would be appreciated. |

![]() It depends on the depth of the scratch. It is extremely difficult to remove deep scratches without having to remove a lot of acrylic and potentially weaken your tank. Light scratches are much easier. Start with novus 3 for heavy scratches and work you way to a novus 1 to give you a fine polish. You can use a high rpm corded drill bit with a foam polishing pad attachment and patience. There are a lot of videos on the web.
Ideally do it with a empty tank as the novus creams are likely toxic to your tank inhabitants. |

![]() How big is your tank in gallons? Dimensions? Thickness of acrylic for side panels and top and bottom if different. How deep are your scratches?
I don’t recommend Novus 3 to polish tanks or use drill and small diameter drill pad. Let’s add wool pads to the list of don’t do’s as well. Last edited by Ritteri; 05-23-2019 at 01:29 AM. |
