Default Where to place holes?

Im wondering where i should put my holes for an oceansmotions 4-way. and should i go with 4 holes or 6. I was thinking 2 on the back and two on each side.

I'm having four holes drilled on the back of my tank, one hole is for a closed loop output for the four way. My four way I'm plumbing eight outlets all dropping in from the top. Got the four way the other day, slick looking piece of hardwear.
