Exclamation LARGE skimmer....decisions decisions!

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a great day. I am having trouble deciding what skimmer to go with. I will have approximately 300-400 gallons total and I would like to run an external skimmer to save space in my sump however I am open to redesigning my sump. I'd like to hear from the experienced reefers out there with the larger aquariums. What are you running and what would you recommend?

Thank you! Hopefully I get lots of input.

I have about 350 in total water and run the octo xp5000 internal. Great skimmer. I have the auto head cleaner as well. Its run solid for about 14 months now and i'm going to clean the pump for the first time this weekend. I've noticed a slight decrease in production over the last few months.

Thank you for your input mseepman! I'm going to look into them.

Does this seem like a good choice? I don't know much about Beckett skimmers, just that the duals require more tweeking and cleaning.

My thoughts would be that the Beckett skimmer is tried and true but Expensive to run long term. Also seems more touchy in my opinion. There are many good skimmers out there now and I would gravitate to the newer styles for power savings.

Bubble King 250 would work perfectly for you if it fits your budget.

I use a Vertex Alpha 300 Cone Skimmer on my 400 G system and it is great.
It is easy to set up, easy to clean and economical to run.
