![]() So my gf bought a bunch of live rock off craigslist and recently discovered it is covered in ball anemones. Until now i knew nothing about these things but the more i look into them the more trouble they sound like. One fish has already disapeared. If possible she would love to avoid removing rocks from the tank as they are all on the bottom rocks (of course) but im sure thats probably gonna be the best route. Does anybody have any experience getting rid of these? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

![]() I thought about that, but the problem with these little buggers is that as soon as you turn on any light they hide back into the rocks. Her tank has only been setup for a few weeks now and only just realized she has an infestation. Apparently they are everywhere and on all rocks. Not really sure what to do.

Sorry i don't have experience getting rid of them. Do you think they have something to do with the fish disappearing? I have 15 at least and actually quite like them, even feed them once in a while. Not epic proportions though so i guess that could be annoying. |

![]() Haha your crazy man. From what iv read, these things produce like mushrooms and will sting and eat anything they can grab with their tentacles. I certainly think it has something to do with the missing fish as there is really nowhere else it could have gone. Its a sealed tank and there are no predators in it at all (That we know of anyways) Iv seen pics online of these things eating clownfish.

![]() Maybe we have a different species?! They must be larger at least as there's no way mine could eat a fish, maybe 1/4" at the base and 1/2" tentacles when open fully at night
