![]() I've been keeping this nano for about a year now and these have been popping up within the last few months. Some kind of algae? Caulerpa?
I want it gone! IM Nuvo 8 gallon Ledtric par 38 full spectrum Filter pad - carbon/GFO in filter bag Water change every week - 10 days ( 1 gal) Tunze 1073.008 pump (spinstream output) Just recently added a nano koralia ph for flow. I checked nitrate = 0 (ELOS) Phosphate = 0 (API....) RODI 0 TDS - Reef crystals. Here's some pics from my iPhone. ![]() ![]() |

rick here is what madreefer posted about mine. It's halimeda algae and is not bad. Nothing eats it. You can trim it, just dont let it get too large and thick. http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/sho...hreadid=102364 |

![]() Yeah thats Halimeda. Not bad, but in large amounts it can suck back calcium (if you're trying to go SPS, this can be an issue). In a tank that small I'm sure you're not trying to have a dedicated SPS tank, so i'm sure you'll be fine to let it grow. Also grows fast so it can get annoying real quick.

![]() RP, I saw your thread right after I posted! Looks the same but mine is a bit more spread out.
Thanks for the suggestions all. I think I'll pluck them out the best I can. It wouldn't bother me in a 80g tank but in an 8g nano it's a bit unsightly. The usual suggestion is to just pull the rock out, but this was the only piece of live rock I started with. Lots of goodies on it. Cheers. |
