Default Kalk reactor

I had a fluidized bed filter that had been on my now shut down 75 gallon tank. I had no further use for it, so I got thinking it might work as a kalk reactor. I searched around for reactor plans and ideas and applied them to the FB fiter.
This is what I came up with.

I had to drill and tap two holes for the waterline fittings, I added a bleeder screw on the to to aid in venting the air out. To fill it with kalk, I just have to pull the drop tube assembly out. It is not the easiest to fill, but the whole project cost less than $20, $16 of which was for the timer.

This is the drop tube I added to the original outlet flow control (now the pump intake) For the mixing pump, I used a modified powerhead controlled by a timer. It mixes for 1 minute every four hours.

Here is a picture with it set up. I had not yet added kalk at this point as I was still using up the kalkwasser I had mixed. This also gave me a couple of days to check for leaks. I added 1 cup of kalk yesterday, and it seems to be working quite well so far.

I've only been running it now for a couple of days, but it seems to be working well. I'll see how my CA levels do now. I haven't been able to raise it enough so far with just the kalk drip. I am planning to set up a calcium reactor too as the CA demand increases as I add more to my coral collection.
