Buying a new camera
My wife just sold her Panasonic DMC FZ8 as she didn't like it. She wants to get a point-and-shoot, but I want a camera that takes decent tank pictures. Is it possible to find one camera that will keep us both happy, or do we need two cameras?
P.S. I just got my new 225 gal starphire tank w/stand and a fiji purple T5 for my 90 reef, and am anxious to post pics. HELPPPPP! |

Nikons are nice, but I have a Kodak 730{i think}.. that works ok and it is pretty much point and shoot...

If you want a point and shoot, maybe look at the olympus 1030 SW. http://www.olympuscanada.com/cpg_sec...p?product=1363
Waterproof Dust-proof Freeze-proof Drop-proof I plan on getting one myself, I just don't have the money right now . |

I have the CANON G9 and it takes great pictures. If you are not budgeting $1500 to $2000 then the DSLR with a couple of lens is out. The CANON G9 is about $500 and is a great camera for the price. If your budget is less than $500 I know a number of people who are using te CANON S5is.

My wife and I just bought a Canon SD1100 IS. Nice point and shoot, 8 mp, 3x optical zoom, image stabilization, and a special shooting setting mode just for aquariums!!

She just came home with this very same camera today. I haven't tried it yet, but she seems happy with it. Hopefully this camera keeps us both happy. Thanks everyone for the advice.
