This is possibly the fastest growing fish that I have ever seen. Purchased as a juvenile of maybe 1.5", it has doubled in size in less than 1 month.

Fish is a VERY healthy eater and takes everything that I feed. It is not intimidated by fish many times larger and shows no aggression toward any other fish.

I would say that this is a very easy fish to keep. However, this tang grows very large and is only suitable for larger systems. (300 gal or more?)

Naso Vlamingi (Juv)

A must for the huge aquarium ! I had it for almost a year and man did it grow fast. It had an incredible personality, and would rest on the bottom of the tank to sleep.

Update - April, 2011: Same fish...now at 3 years in the tank. Tail Streamers now significant, although not nearly as long as N. elegans or N. literatus. Growth rate has slowed (thank goodness!).
Current estimated size: 15"-16"

Update May, 2012: still doing fine at 4 years in the tank. Streamers are getting quite long now.
