Default New to nanos

New to nano. Selling my 40 gallon for certain reasons. Any way going to a 25 gallon right now on the inhabitant list is 1 male banggai cardnal i hope to get a female. Next will be either a pair of Pink skunk clowns or a pair of ocellaris clowns not sure yet. For inverts there will be Hawiian and caribean feather dusters, assorted soft and LPS corals, maybe even some easy to keep SPS not sure yet. I will keep either 2 cleaner shrimp or a cleaner and a blood not sure on that either. for filtration i will run 3 inch sand bed and 30 lbs of assorted live rock. water flo will be 2 100 gallon per hour power heads pointed at each other to get a good swirl. Prism or Bak-Pak skimmer. lighting will be 3 24 inch VHO's. Anything need to be added or changed.

I would go with 2 powerheads in the range of 200ish gph or more. A 100gph powerhead sure won't do much in a 20g tank.

In my 29g I have about 650 GPH from 3 sources. There are still some dead spots I should address, so yeah, you'll probably need it...

A small tank presents unique challenges, you might reconsider selling your 40. Don't think you'll save much money going to a 25, and it's tougher to control water quality as well as flow.

Well that's a tough spot for sure, but like I said you're not saving much money going from a 40 to a 25, unless you just have NO tank at all. If you were going from a 120 to a 25 I could see it...

I agree with Alan. You will notice not much difference at all. I think I hear once that running a 100w light bulb 24hours a day for a month cost something like $3.00 to $6.00 or something like that. If I was a math wiz I could figure it out but sadly I'm not

Anyone smart enough to figure it out.

Anyway. The savings will be negligible.

yes but it just keeps me out of trouble and m mom off my back thats all. Besides i know it wont change much so if i can keep a nice tank with no hassle from anybody else i would. But like i said i will be getting a bigger tank next year.
