Default Changing out fans

I was wondering is anybody has any experience in changing out the fans in a halide fixture? I know i can get some quieter ones from memory express, but they all have the three prong connector. The current fans are hooked up by neg and pos wires and that would be it, so my question is with the new fans and that third wire, do I just cut it off and not worry about it?

Thanks

I was just on there and they also have 2 wire to 3 wire adapters so no need to cut. but they do have a lot of two wire fans also

You don't need the 3rd wire its for fan speed, if your setup doesn't have then no use for it,make sure the exposed end is sealed.
