![]() Hello again all,
I'm going to be doing a tank build within the up coming months, but want to make sure to get all the equipment before hand. I think I have everything in check, but need advise on what pumps to use for pumping water from my holding tanks/barrels to my sump for water changes. The distance from sump to holding tank/barrels would be around 6' - 8'. I'm thinking of having the pumps in the barrels and pumping out from there, but an external pump is not out of the question at this point. Any suggestions would be great. Cheers, Colin |

![]() Almost any pump will do for this purpose. I suggest you go cheap here and spend the good money on more important aspects of your system. I use quiet one 3000 pumps for water changes. It's not a great pump, and not very "quiet", but they are cheap and easy to replace.

![]() I used to use a MJ1200 and pumped up 4' of head pressure to get water to the DT. I gravity feed now, but still use the MJ as a vacuum for sump and even DT when i'm in a rush. I love those little pumps.
