Default green water

My green water was almost gone when I started to get my lights back up to normal on times and my water is starting to go green again. I am fed up with the green and I am looking into a UV sterilizer. I have heard that you only need the once in a while and was wondering if I could get away with a 9W coralife from J and L. Would it be strong enough on a 90gal to clean the water? Thanks Marcus

What other steps did you take, beside the lighting reduction?

I used green X and filter floss in the sump, skimmer had stopped working throughout and had just started to work. Its pulling some real black stuff out since the weekend. I have been feeding less, and added a air stone for when the lights are off. Water changes are made up of RO/DI bought water and I have switched to IO salt. I am looking into replacing my seaclone skimmer and looking at buying a RO/DI system.

Have I missed anything, I will vac CC next water change. I have a feather duster, LTA, False Percula, Maroon, four Green Chromis, and a Dia. Dotty, two fighting conches, three scarlet crabs, cleaner shrimp, peppermint shrimp, four astrea, three cerith.
