what buffers to use?
just wondering what buffers i should be purchasing, brands etc?
I have read through myka's thread but it doesn't mention what brand of buffers to use. From my understanding all i need for buffers are calcium and alkalinity. Is this correct? where is the best place in edmonton to purchase these and what kinda of costs will i be looking at? Thanks in advance guys!

Have a look at this, you need to keep 3 levels in check, Kh, Ca, and Mg.
http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-02/rhf/index.php you can buy it here, and Red Coral has it I believe. (not that your in Calgary though) http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=67 |

For the south side I would send you to Big Al's or Blue World Aquatics.
Big Al's has more selection for whatever you need, but Blue World is 100% Saltwater so its a good one to check out aswell. Both are similarly priced. Chemicals vary so much from about $10 - $40 depending on size, quantity and type. You should pick up test kits for whatever you are dosing thou so add these into the price of the chemicals. |

i have all the proper sets of test kits, i have picked up a complete reef additive and it seems to be working, although i have been slacking on my testing everything has been happy in the tank.
