Default Vortech placement

Thinking of placing my MP 20,s on the rear of my new 35g sps cube. Its painted with a blue latex paint for background.

Do you think its fine to attach over the paint? When I tried that on my 20g I scraped an area for the pump but it looked ugly and also limited if I wished to move the pumps.

Was trying to e-mail the company but not giving my life history for such a simple question.

Myself, I dont see a problem as both sides have the rubber washer thingy. Perhaps its a heat issue or something though?
