Default alpha cone 170 or 200

hi all, im looking for some input.
considering our dollar is pretty much par and there is a 10% sale on the royal exclusive alpha cones.
i am considering upgrading my skimmer from my euro reef rc135 to either the 170 or 200 alpha cone.

my question is should i go with the alpha 170 rated for up to 200g or the alpha 200 which is rated for up to 300g price difference isnt too much.
my current tank is a 92g corner 20g sump. i would consider heavily stocked and with 120# of LR, so water volume should be considered.

i know ppl always suggest bigger the skimmer the better but would one rated for 3 times my tank be too big? would i have problems keeping up foam production considering my water volume? or would it be wiser to go with the smaller skimmer and have it work a little harder?

thanks for the input

Go with the A170. You can DEFINITELY oversize these things.

I have the same problem and I went with the 170 for my new setup. I called and talked to J&L and they gave me the same advice

Doesn't matter how much you have been reading until you take the plunge.

thanks guys for the response. i was only considering the 200 because it wasnt too much more(110usd), but from what i have read and the reponse from here the 200 might be a bit overkill for my system.

i read some reviews and ppl were suggesting the 170 for 125g and below, i just might go
for that!
i was gonna get it from a usa site (there are a few). that list the 170 at 699usd and the 200 at 809.99usd with free shippiing to a usa address, but shipping to a canadian address would cost about 70usd.(unless i got it shipped to a usa address and went to pick it up)
i just may buy from jlaquatics for about 150can more and save myself the duty, troubles and headache.
thanks for the responses.
