Default new skimmer questions

ok i am looking get new skimmer for my tank .have looked at hydor 700 and swc 200 extrem .anyone have any thoughts on whats better ?there going on my 120 with a 40 gallon sump with a medium bio load

I ould go for the cone one if you can its a pretty decent piece of kit.

SWC cone - best bang for the buck. Competes with any high end model.

Disagree on your point there not the high end models like the red dragon, ehiem, Aquabee, MR Wilson for the price its not bad the impeller isnt all that great until it starts to warp

the swc 200 extrem is there older style .its not a cone

They have the mini-S cone style that would fit that build as well, slightly higher price, but smaller footprint (pump underneath vs to the side) which depending on your sump design may be nice.

No experience with the hydor one, so can't comment on it.

But my SWC 160 cone works great.
