Like you, I've just started my first salt tank I ended up going with a vertex IN-180, and it's basically plug & play. There hasn't been a big learning curve at all with it, fairly straight forward. They make a smaller unit that's in your budget.

Some were liking the Bubble-Magus, seems affordable. (Canreef, RC)

Here is a pretty good deal on a Euro Reef. You would be pushing it on a 100g though. A ER135 might be a better option for you.

go asm.
Really a knock off of the euro reef that functions just as well as the original.
Plus, the asm's come apart for super easy cleaning.

I run a Schuran Jetskim 120.
on a 95d/60s system med stocked.

I wouldn't give it up for many other out there.

I'm intrigued by the Bubble Magus' though.
Cool name, kinda like Ultra Magnus and they're getting a reputation as a poor mans bubble king, which is pretty high praise considering price and prestige differences.

If I was in the market for a brand new skimmer I would be looking at them, as a poor man....lol

Anyone notice though that these things have come up in price pretty significantly since they first showed up a couple years ago?
I wonder if components and build quality has been bumped up as well....

I seen some bubble magnus on e-bay. I bought a Tunze 9010 for my 155 used from a Member and it is working great. From what I learned when looking for a skimmer was double check, heck triple check the amount of room you have for your skimmer. That's just my 2 cent's by NO MEANS an expert.
