![]() I have successfully built one of these dual stage controllers from a Vellemann kit. I am extremely impressed by this product and can't say enough good things about it. It has a large LED display. the Canadian and U.S. models display in fahrenheit. The settings for the high and and low setpoints are can be 0.1 F. The hystersis is also adjusted from from 0.1 Ff and up. The unit itself can also be calibrated against a accurate source. You do need to supply a transformer and a case. The instructions are a bit vague, but anyone with good soldering techniques and a some electronic basics can put it together easily.

![]() If the electronic basics part of my brain was operational, I would disconnect the internal dual controller (since it sucks) in my chiller and try this one with a remote sensor. I guess the best time to start learning is right away.

![]() The sensor part of it is actually remote. If you decide to go for it give me a shout and I can help you with any problems building it. The manual is very clear on how to put together, but there is a few typos that can throw off the user.

![]() could this be used to hook up a fan to and have the fan turn on when the temp of your water get's to a certain point?

![]() Yes, and the heater to come on when it hits the low setting
e.g fan on 82.0 fan off at 81.5 heater on at 80 heater off at 81 You can set the setpoint to what ever you want ,to 0.1 from each other. Quote:

![]() how is the temp sensor/probe built? ie. what material and how does it hold up to being under water?

![]() The remote sensor is a seperate circuit board. You just dettach the transisitor from the circuit board and reattach it by oldering it to a section of wire, seal it and heat shrink wrap the transistor.
