I found that large water changes at room temperature seemed to promote splits.

Well, won't be getting one from me Tony.

After staying put for a year, she headed into the hydor.

Same thing happened to me, came home to about 5000 little red floaties and the 1/4th of a RBTA that was still there was sucked into my Korellia 8 and looked like a bar of grated cheese . Thanks for the info though Mitch!
