i should probably mention that the new tank has been running with a few fish for 3 months if that bit of info helps.

When I moved my 65+27g tanks into the new 120 I drip acclimated the fish for about an hour, the inverts for 2 hours, the SPS not at all, the LPS with the inverts and softies got thrown in willy-nilly (along with straggler crabs and snails that I didn't find the first time around. ) I figure it doesn't hurt to be extra careful and the only thig I lost was a digi that had been looking terrible anyhow. My parameters were pretty close on all 3 tanks but I figure this accounts for differences we can't test for.
I didn't acclimate big chunks of rock, I didn't have the enwergy at that point! Best of luck! |
