![]() any and all advice would be great and highly appreciated.
what components are needed. overall use how to setup. I have a basic understanding for a sump but could use more advice and totally clueless for refugiums. I have a 70 gallon tank running with a sea clone skimmer I have an overflow box, there is a 100 pounds of live fiji rock in the tank. I have a 33 gallon tank and a 20 gallon and 5 gallon. should I use the 33 and partition it?? or use the 20 and 5?? also some assistance in setting it up may involve free beer |

![]() Just like in the display tank larger is better. I would say use the 33 for the sump and the 20 for the refugium. Unless you don't have the space to use them together. There are many articles online on how to set up such systems. Be sure to stock the refugium with a DSB and critters to keep the sand turned.
Remember you don't HAVE to use actual tanks for either of these things. A rubbermaid container will do just as well for a sump / refugium. I'm still waiting for my own tank to arrive. Once that is here I will try to do a photo essay of my entire setup experience including updates on livestock decisions.
