there's no point in live sand if you get live rock imo.
but if you insist, get live sand from a well matured tank that has a decent history (no crashes, parasites etc.). that way you get all the fauna that lives in it. best source is a fellow reefer; most will donate for cheap as free. why go online? do you mean that "live" sand in a bag? personally, i think that's a rip and a half... same thing as live rock. I would just go with the dry sand in the bags. just remember to rinse it really well.
