i saw one of these critters in the sump a few weeks back on a piece of liverock, havent seen it in a while, now today while examining my tank i find another one in the display!
![]() my phototaking abilities are lacking, and this was the best pic of 5 before my batteries died in my camera. looks to be some sort of starfish, and i was hoping i could get help identifying. the tank that the majority of the liverock came from did have chocolate chip starfish, could it be a baby?

Not likely a baby CC, but could be an Asterina sp. star (pretty common).

Looks like an asterina, watch them carefully they can eat corals or just be harmless. They can also multiply like crazy to plague proportions.

Yep Asterina. I remove any I see. I don't like starfish in tanks smaller than 100 gallons. They eat too much good stuff.

well once corals become an option i may remove the ones i find, but for now i think i'll let them be (unless like stated they multiply to mass proportions)
