Default My Profilux II Plus Aquarium Controller Review

So I was able to pick up a Profilux II Plus controller a bit ago and I've now had some time to sit down with it. I haven't set it up quite yet, but hopefully tomorrow I will be able too. However I have had time to take pictures of the unit and read the manual. I've also plugged it in and played with some settings and such... which I'll get to in a bit.

For those of you who know my setup, your probably wondering why I would invest in a Profilux as I already have a full blown Aquatronica system running my Aquarium. Well the simple answer is I like equipment and am not afraid to try something new and different once in awhile. I plan to run both systems for awhile and then pick the one that suits my needs the best. I figured I would post about my findings as there seems to be a growing interest in Aquarium controllers and especially the profilux. (here on canreef)

First off I'm going to post pictures of the equipment:
(I realize there are already pictures of the unit in another thread, but a few more won't hurt any)

Calibration Solutions:

I haven't taken any pictures of the probe holder yet... it's kinda like a chinese puzzle and I haven't quite figured it out yet.

Overall I'm impressed with the quality of the equipment and I have a good feeling about the unit. I've had it plugged in and connected to my computer via. the LAN port. Configuration of this was pretty basic and anyone with minimal understanding of computer networking shouldn't have any problems. The included documentation on LAN setup is quite nice and easily followed. I also have the serial cable for computer connection as it seems to be required for the firmware update process. (LAN is too unreliable for such a delicate process)

(I didn't go with the WLAN because it's more expensive and my computer sits right next to my Aquarium anyway)

I haven't played much with the programming yet so I'm not sure of it's abilities and limitations yet, but I will be updating this thread as I move along so stay tuned.
